For most of my life,
I couldn't figure out why I acted
the way I did.

MY JOURNEY

I didn't get here by having an easy life.

I got here by refusing to stay stuck in one.

Some of those years, I struggled with alcoholism.

And Barry stayed anyway.

I once asked him how he was able to forgive me for some of what we'd gone through.

He looked at me and said quietly, "Because I know who you are."

I'm glad he did.

I didn't.

But I do now.

The Return way™:
where it came from

When my husband Barry was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma, people kept asking me the same thing.

"How are you so calm?"

A few even said, "I want what you have."

I remember thinking, I don't even know how to answer that.

So, after Barry's scans starting improving and finally the cancer was designated as "resolved" I revisited those questions. I grabbed a pen and tried to write down everything I could think of that I actually did during the health crisis.

Step by step I pieced together what I did, like when fear showed up — and how I worked through it instead of letting it run the show.

Not because I was planning to write a book. I honestly thought it might help the people who were asking me... and maybe a few others too.

That writing became The RETURN Way™.

Today, it's the framework I share through my books, keynote, and workshops — to help others understand what's driving their behavior, and find their way back to themselves.

I wrote these books because someone once said, "I want what you have."

My hope is that somewhere in these pages, you find a little of that for yourself.

Ready to bring The RETURN Way™
to your organization?

Whether it's a conference, leadership offsite, healthcare training, university program, or community gathering, I'd love to help your audience understand what's driving their behavior.

Real stories. Practical insight. Lasting change.

my weekly routine

Every Saturday morning, I walk Frisco before logging on to lead Women in the Rooms.

What began in 2025 as a small recovery meeting has become something much bigger—a community of women doing the deeper work together.

It's still going strong, and still one of the best parts of my week!
